The Genomics laboratories are equipped with 2 Illumina MiSeq sequencers for ultra-high throughput DNA sequencing, as well as necessary support equipment such as laminar flow cabinets, HydroShear (Gene Machines), BioAnalyzer 2100 (Agilent), plate centrifuges, particle counter and computers, several automated liquid handling robots (Beckman Coulter and Robbins Scientific) capable of plasmid and PCR product purification, a 96-well microtiter plate fluorometer (HTS7000 Bioassay Reader-PerkinElmer) for large-scale DNA quantification. Oxford Nanopore MinION Mk1C and Mk.IIB long reads sequencing instruments for in-house microbial genome sequencing. Additionally, for large-scale DNA sequencing to determine genome sequences of microbial isolates and resequencing of plants and microbes and metagenomic sequences are conducted in collaboration with DOE’s Joint Genome Institute.
